First big crash :(

This morning as I was sitting half asleep on the couch (I was woken up mid dream thanks to Steve and Alex) and I hear a crash. Alex has pulled over his high chair. Okay, I think it can't be that bad (he has already pulled over the chair on top of him). I was wrong. His little forehead had caught the edge of the tray. It left a big scrape and a little dent. The dent quickly turned to a bump and it has been red all day. We both cried; me a little, him a lot. Not a good start to our day. 

Looks worse in person :( plus it is on top of an almost healed bruise from the other day.

 Luckily after a good nap he was all better, ready to play with his toys. And walk. Did I mention he is walking? Yup our 9 1/2 old month is walking! It really isn't any different than crawling since he is already pulling himself up and into things anyway. But it is definitely a FUN milestone :)

9 Months

 

This sweet little guy is 9 Months old! I can hardly believe it. Time has just completely flown by. And we have loved every moment of it.... well almost every moment ;)  Just the couple month his personality has gotten so fun. As soon as he learned to crawl he was instantly into everything. His favorite thing is banging on all the cupboards (yes even when he is naked). Speaking of naked he has finally gotten over is random fear of the bath! Thank goodness! That was a LONG couple weeks, stinky too. He he.

 Some more of his favorite things are: the blinds, eating snack, crawling around naked after bath, Steve's golf clubs, the buttons on the dvd player, any noisy toy, shaking chairs, slamming lids on the kitchen floor (very noisy), when daddy comes home, puppies (especially when they lick him in the face), waving at everyone who goes by, pulling out the dvds, the water bottle while he is in his car seat, and the most favorite thing of all - his blue, soft, snuggle blanky (we seriously can't go anywhere with out it!!!).  Okay so that was more than a few of his favorites, but he likes lots of things. He is a little tornado that runs through our house everyday.

 9 Month Stats: 28.5 Inches, 19 Pounds 7 Ounces (although I think he is more, I was watching the scale.) Definitely a tall skinny boy! He eats constantly it seems, but he is also always on the go so he is thinning out again.

We sure do love this little guy! Can't wait for him to learn some more new tricks. Walking is next, probably any day by the looks of things. Love you Alex!!

March Catch Up

March has been such a fun month for us!!

March 1: Alex's first tooth.
March 2: Crawling.
March 5: Pulling up to furniture. (Silly boy thinks he can walk!)
March 18: Crawls up stairs at church.
March 6 - 21: Grandma came to visit!!

It seems like he has done A LOT of growing this month too. He is now in 12 month most everything, except shirts. Because he is tall, not chubby. He was destined to have long legs just like Steve and I. His feet are huge! He wears size 3-4, but by the end of summer they will be 5-6.

Alex is sleeping a ton better now too. Most nights he will sleep from about 10 pm to 4 am. Have a drink and then sleep until 6 am. Steve will give him a little bit of milk before he leaves and then he sleeps in until almost 8 some days! I know it isn't 7-7 like some babies his age, but this is big for us!! I even wake up before him sometimes and get in my scriptures and things. It is so nice.

He is so fun and I love watching him learn new tricks everyday. He is a handful, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I did have a long blog tutorial of how we (My mom and I) made it, but it was long and boring. If you are curious just ask! It was super easy and fairly cheap! Now all it needs is some fun pillows!

I mustache you a question...

Okay so I am sorta obsessed with all the mustache jokes. Pinterest got me hooked and for some reason I think they are hilarious! Steve probably thinks I am a nut. Well, the other night I finally cut out a little mustache and put it on a stick. It has been so fun! Alex just likes to try to eat it, but we did get a good picture of him with it. Last night was FULL of mustache jokes. Here are all the good ones:

I know I know, they are kinda goofy, but I LOVE them.
Oh and hope you all had a Happy Valentines Day! Ours was great! Alex even slept through the night!... sorta (11-5). :)

Alex: A few of His Favorite Things.

1- Blankets. This kiddo loves blankets. If there is a blanket in sight, he has to have it. Tired or not. And he likes to sleep hugging them. All of them. He such a snuggler :)

He usually has one more, but he peed on it this morning....

2- Bath Time. What kiddo doesn't love bath time?  But I think Alex loves it more than most! You turn on the water and his arms start flapping and he gets the biggest grin on his face. You just can't get him in fast enough. And once he is in he loves sucking on the wash cloth. If you take it away he will do his best to get it back! This includes arching his back and reaching as high he can to get it. He is so funny. Sometimes by the end there is hardly any water left in the baby tub because he has splashed it all out!

Don't mind the naked baby... This is the day he rolled over in the tub. Kind of scary, but funny at the same time.

3- His Toy Frog. He knows the rattle sound it makes by heart and if he hears it he will look all around for it. He will choose the frog over any other toy 99% of the time. He just LOVES it!

 

4- Eating. Whether  it is milk, oatmeal, or green beans this kiddo likes to EAT! Not peas however, he just can't seem to gag those down for some reason. But everything else we have given him to try he just loves. Sometimes when it is a new flavor he does a little shake to get it down but he still begs for the next bite. Side note, he loves playing with the spoon when he is finished eating. A lot of the time he gags himself with it, but he is learning.

5- Toes.  Mine or his, he thinks toes are fascinating. He especially likes mine when they are painted. I prefer he chews on his own though.

Alex is getting such a fun personality. It is so fun to see him learn hew things everyday. He is getting so very close to crawling! I can't believe it, and I really don't think I am ready for it yet. But he will be reaching for a toy in front of him while he is sitting down, gets on his tummy but just ends up scooting backwards. He gets VERY frustrated. But he almost has it down. Probably in a few weeks.
